Just a thought I had after watching "Remember Me" tonight.
What are we but egotistical ants overpopulating one beautiful and insignificant speck in an infinite universe. The human species, so intelligent, so ignorant. Surrounding ourselves with meaningless currency, religion, and primitive technologies.

What does it all mean? Is there a purpose to all the insanity, or are we just here? And if so, why do we so desire knowledge, experience, and human connection? Above all, we desire significance, we desire our lives to mean something. Yet we can never know if any act means anything in the context of an infinite universe and an infinite expanse of time. Can we truly even define significance?

The other day an elderly man with cancer told me, "Ever day that you wake up, is a good day." How perfectly true that is. In a world where any day could be our last, each second is beautiful. Each moment is special, and in its very essence is significant. Therefore does this suggest that the true nature of significance is simply to exist?

If you happen to stumble of upon this feel free to add in your opinions. Good or bad, I'm just searching for truth. If you feel my opinion itself is ignorant or on the other hand profound or somewhere in between then don't be shy. :)

May each moment inspire you.
