Story that I started. Just about middle level drama.
[Introduction]
Intro
“Candace and Drew, sittin’ in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes lo-” Alyssa was interrupted on the playground while making fun of her best friend Candace.
“Alyssa, shut up,” Candace said sternly, “not everyone needs to know I like Drew, especially not Drew. Ok?”
Alyssa giggled, “Ok, Ok. I got it. Don’t tell Drew. Can I tell anyone else though?”
“No, no one.” Candace and Alyssa were sitting on the monkey bars, gossiping, talking, and just giggling, like every day.
“Are you sure you want to wait to tell him? Don’t you remember the last time you did that? It turned out he liked you back, but you told him too late. He ended up moving on and dating Lydia. You hated that. You were hung up for months on that. I tell my crush I like them as soon as I know-”
Candace interrupted again, this time with a smile, followed by a laugh. “All of the guys think you’re creepy for that. I’m surprised Eric even dates you. You got lucky on that one.”
“Oh, you’re just jealous,” Alyssa joked.
They’d been close since Alyssa’s dad, Candace’s uncle died. They were close, and now they lived with Alyssa’s mom. Candace’s dad had walked out, so her mom turned to Alyssa’s mom for help. Alyssa’s mom, Tia, was like a second mother to Candace. Candace’s mom had been murdered not long after Candace’s dad walked out. It all happened so fast, Candace didn’t understand what had happened for a while, so Candace never talked about it, and she liked it that way, and everyone else just left it.
Chapter 1: Drew’s POV
“’Ey Bro!” Chris and I give a fist bump as he walks by.
“Hey.” I shout and go back to digging through my locker, looking for one of my binders. I grab the blue binder and get the heck away from the mess that’s closed in by a locker door.
Several people say “hi” to me as I’m walking to my homeroom. I don’t know how I got so popular, and I wish I wasn’t. I can’t have a minute alone. It’s funny because I’m more on the quiet side, yet I’m the most popular. There’s a girl that has the same problem, kind of. She doesn’t give a crud that she’s popular. I wish I could just go along like that. Her name is Candace. She’s Alyssa’s cousin. I’ve never really talked to her, but we’ve been in the same class every year but this one. She’s weird. One of her friends, Sapphire, or Sappy as we call her, is the most annoying, loud, obnoxious girl I know. How she became friends with Candace, I don’t know. I don’t understand girls anymore. Last year, I asked out Lydia, and she rejected, then she dated Chris for a little while. After they broke up, she asked me out and I rejected. I liked her then, but not now. Now? Now I’m just confused. Daily life just adds to it.
