This is about a group of otters being rude to a crocodile. Friendship is built.
There once was a posse of otters.
Who called themselves the trotters
They lived in African waters
Often fighting about who was hotter
They traveled around the globe
Looking for places to go
To have fun and play water polo
The otters were the best
Better than the rest
Even if someone were to put them to the test

While on their journey
Their mother would worry
Until they got home
She didn’t want her babies to roam
For fear of them running into crocodiles
Her least favorite people
On one of their breaks home
The littlest named Joan
Was swimming in the water
When a crocodile got her!

He said he only wanted to play
He had been lonely since May
Just swimming in the bay
All by himself
Because his teeth were so large
And his skin was so scaly
All of the other animals thought he was scary
Little Joan spat in his face
And sprayed him with mace
So the poor crocodile would cry for days
Then the Globe Trotters swam away

All of the otters made gagging gestures
Even the oldest Jonah Mc’Jonester
They hated that croc
So they decided to mock
Every movement he made
The meanness never seemed to fade
Then Joan got a thought
But it was bad because
It was the evilest idea
Any otter had ever had

Joan yelled “listen up!”
To her brown furry clan
You better pay attention
Because I have a plan
They all gathered around
Stepping in closer
To hear the small otters sound
She whispered it quickly
All ears listening in
The Jonah turned away
Looking sickly

The crocodile waded in the water
Feeling sorry for himself
He was left out again
So he swam to his rock shelf
That poor crocodile
Didn’t know what was coming
So he sat amongst the kelp
Weaving his body through it all
Until he got stuck
And needed help

Joan led the trotters
To grab all they needed
The smallest otter walked so tall
Boy! That Joan was conceded
She barked orders
At each of her siblings
Though Jonah was quite unwilling
Grabbing rocks and ropes
And an old fishing net
No one could stop her now
She had her mind set

“Krickey Mate”! Yelled the croc
“I’m stuck in the kelp!”
He wiggled and wriggled and squirmed
But no matter how hard he fought
He still needed help
He wished he had more friends
To defend him
Going off a whim
He uses his last breath
To yell as loud as he can

Jonah Mc’Jonester
Heard a strange sound
He went to investigate
Taking leaps and bounds
He couldn’t believe what he had found
He dove under the water
Swimming with all his might
Deciding right then and there he wanted to fight
Jonah looked at the croc
And saw fear in his eyes

To the crocs surprise
Jonah bit at his restraints
He grabbed the rocks and started to rise
When he removed them all
The croc started to fall
He started to race
Moving his fastest pace
He broke the surface
All the other otters started to fuss
So the croc and Jonah swam away
Leaving that day playing water polo

So now that you see
How mean otters can be
No matter how different
Big or small
Everyone is the same
No matter how tall
So don’t feel ashamed
If you feel different
Because everyone deserves a friend
No matter how it ends.
