                                                                  TEACHABLE MOMENTS





           Deuteronomy 6:7AMP

         Teachable moments come around when you least expect it. They usually arrive at a time when we as parents are tired from a long day at work, or maybe it's at the very beginning of the day. You know what time I'm talking about when we're scrambling to get everyone to school or work. That time when it just doesn't seem like the “right time.” Strangely enough, children absorb things when they are most interested...imagine that. If you wait, their interest will fade, and with it, the likely hood of anything you said being remembered for future use is null and void.

         God says that there is a time for every season Eccl 3:1AMP. He didn't say it would be according to our plans, but it happens just the way he planned it. The questions they ask in the moments are important. They ask about how did we get here? Where do things come from? Who is God? How do we talk to God?

         Many of the question may have already been answered, but as it turns out true interest brings a better outcome of them applying what they've been told...now and in the future. You may be teaching them something that they can not only pass on to their peers but also to their own children one day...Did you think of that?  Gen. 18:19AMP Everything that is said or done impacts our future generations. I'm sure we've all heard it, but have we ever considered what we teach our children today through both word and deed may be the very things they hold on to to pass on to their children and their children's children. God made mention of this many times in His Word. His concern is for us today and for our generations to come.

         Let's grab a hold of each moment. Study God's Word with passion and hope that when the questions arise so will words of wisdom 2 Tim. 2:15AMP. They count on us for their teachable moments to be a real education. Set the foundation for their future to be a successful one.
