My 2013 writing goals
Dear Me,

It is a New Year! It is 2013, time to find a goal achievement method that works. The first step is to set a daily word count goal and set aside a specific time each day to write. The second step is to organize and categorize my creative efforts. Therefore, I created a folder in my portfolio called 2013 Work, which contains unfinished items or items that I am working on. The third step is to print hard copies of my finished work and file them in alphabetically order.

My word count goal for 2013 is 2,000 words a day. In order to achieve this goal, I have to work a minimum of four hours per day writing. Since sitting in front of a computer for four hours at a time is difficult. I bought an oven timer so that I can divide the writing periods into one hour sessions. I set the timer for the chosen period of time and write until the timer goes off. In order to minimize interruptions during the writing session I will set my cell phone on vibrate. I am also considering making a sign for my front door that reads I am working! Unless this is a delivery, please call back later. So far, the only interruptions I encounter is the telephone, but I have the sign if I need it.

My reward for achieving my daily goal is one show on television each night and/or a movie each month. On Tuesday nights, Betty White's Off Their Rockers. On Wednesday nights, NOVA. I have not decided the shows I want to watch on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Yours Every,
Prosperous Snow
