The autumn leaves gleaming softly, onto the ground Yellow diamonds and auburn rubies shivering in trees, a gentle whisper Her love is shaken, but never torn. Against the equinox, her golden eyes flicker playfully Her laughter carries warmth through the tender breeze And the air around her shimmers with grace and elegance Her hair, like wheat in the afternoon sun reflects all it’s worth. She dances on the tree tops, on their gem hued leaves. Time passes by her, her fingers interlacing the old with the new He comes temperately, awakened from his long quiescence Breathing out, his arctic eyes summon snowy veils onto the earth Yellow diamonds and rubies fall to the ground gracefully And sapphires and amethysts grow in their past homes. Standing in the beginning of the solstice, she grows faint. Like a feather falling, her effulgent eyes fade into her. He catches her, pleading with her for one last kiss. Their lips touch, and the world turns white around them And her golden eyes rest, while he watches over their evolved world. His frosty face, missing her soft lips and warm smile, Until next year, when her warm laugh awakens them both, once again. |
