[Introduction]
"Riinnnggg, Riiinnnggg" As his alarm went off he lay staring at the phone prior to the alarm engaging, the nightmares never seem to go away. He got up in the same sluggish fashion, the white walled dark apartment had an omniscient feeling in the air as Adam walked to the restroom to wash in the daily fashion. Every morning he stares into the mirror looking into his own eyes, each day he swears it feels like his own soul is leaving his body. His own eyes look more and more distant as he watches his every movement. Then a chill ran up his spine.
Something is different... He reaches for the straight razor and walks silently out of his restroom careful not to make a noise. Nothing but he can't escape the feeling of being watched. Riinnggg Shit! I'm gonna be late for work! He arrived at the old factory still feeling unease and troubled. But walked on probably nothing he lied to himself its been awhile since he has had a feeling like this and knows he is almost never wrong.
"You alright man?", came a voice from behind his car. Arman wearing his usual grease stained tshirt and blue jeans leaned up against his old beat up volvo and lit a smoke.
"Damn man looks like you didn't sleep again man." Adam chuckles at his friend, "Yeah damn phone going off all night!" he takes one of the offered cigarettes and takes a long pull. Arman gives him a smile showing nicotine stained teeth."Turn that shit off woman ain't worth it." Arman takes another drag and puts it out,"Alright lets get in there and get this shit over with"
"Yeah, should be fun" returning a faint smile
The two walked into the building along the dark tunnel up to their work area
"Never liked the low lighting." Adam grumbled under his breath. They go to there assembly line same as usual, a long line with multiple welders and various other tools of the trade.
The two men sat down in the back waiting for others to come filing in. A loud crack came all of a sudden and there was a momentary black out until the emergency lighting kicked in.
"What the fuck.." Arman said
Adam looked to where the noise came from, a hole in the roof with multiple long black ropes and dark figures coming down.
"Get out of here Arman, NOW!!!" Adam gave his friend a hard shove towards the door. Arman looked wide eye'd at Adam and saw him taking his shirt off, "What are you doing?" perplexed
"I said GO!" Adam exclaimed as he clasped his hands together
Arman turned around he looked back and say little metal fragments beginning to cover his friends bare skin, unable to move he watched as the small metal fragments engulfed his friend's back and arms.
" Damn it GO!!!!" Adam turned and saw the fear in his Arman's eyes.
The metal finished covering his face.
"Good bye Arman." Under the steel he knew this was the feeling he felt earlier. He knew this was the last time he would see his friend. Turning quickly he headed to the men dropping from the ceiling scattering all over the shop floor into formation. He could hear the yelling of commands and screaming of employees running in all directions. Gun fire broke out and Adam then started to sprint towards the closest noises. He concentrated on his arms and they formed into blades as long as his forearm. Rounding a corner he came across the first group of men and dashed to the closest sending the steel blade through the soldiers chest, piercing the body armour. Blood poured from the man's chest and the other men in the squad regained their wits and fired. As the bullets hit his thick steel coating they bounced and ricocheted everywhere taking out a overhanging light and hitting another man in the knee. Adrenaline kicked in as Adam began to wad into the small squad cutting down each one in a short efficient stokes and jabs, they didn't have a chance. Blood lust took over as he sliced and bludgeoned countless men running into the hall. The speed of his blade and strength of the steel made it far to easy too kill the would be assasins. After all the men lay dead a loud scream came from close by he ran to it, the scream had come from inside the office. As he came close he can see through the window although the lighting was dim he saw a young blonde woman in the corner as a particularly burley soldier packing a SAW was advancing on her. Recognizing the young female as Lydia, a young college girl from the local universities work study program. Adam jumped through the glass but the the soldier was faster than he had anticapated and turned at his hasty entrance unloading on him. There was nothing he could do some of the rounds bounced but even the tough armour couldn't repel them all. The rounds started to pnch through the thick steel letting torrents of blood out of the ragged punctures in his armour.
'click, click , click' Empty. The soldier began to reload and smiled thinking he had him.
"My turn!" Adam shouted as he charged the large soldier and lashed out stabbing the man's shoulder then bringing up his other blade slicing his mid section. A few stabs, slices, and a powerful swing towards the neck to finish him. The soldiers head fell to the ground as his body fell limp. The pain overpowered him and he fell to his knees clutching his chest. Lydia couldn't tell who the man was under the helmet, but she caught him under his left arm. He did save me from that goon he couldn't be with them right? They hobbled their way out while blood dribbled from Adam's side staining her white shirt a dark red.
"C'mon" she said struggling to keep him standing, "Were close to the main office area."
They approached the door and could hear chatter coming from inside the main office area.
"What do you mean their dead", A man yelled.
"When I draw there attention you run and get out of here" Adam told her choking on the blood coming up from the pit of his stomach.
"You're injured though!" Lydia's expression grim.
"I'm fine, just do it" She nodded at him and hid out of sight.
Adam straightened up and bursted in the room, the first target was the man talking on the mic. He flung two pieces of metal hard and it went through the mans stomach and the other pierced his skull. The other men stared in shock, but quickly regained their composure, one pulling a pistol the others unslinging assault weapons. Adam kicked one in the stomach then grabbed the bottom of his chin while he was bent over put his left arm under the mans right and shot it straight up snapping the mans neck effortlessly. Another came up and had his neck quickly mutilated.
As the fight continued Lydia slipped past but what Adam didn't realize was a man entered the room wearing similar armour. He finished the last man bring his bladed right arm straight down splitting the man in half.
"So you still know?" said a sinister voice
realizing that voice Adam turned and saw him. "Draven."
"How cute you remember me Basen..or is it Adam now?" I can't believe you're trying to have a normal life. These people are filth, like an ant beneath our boot!" Draven started doing slow circle around Basen.
" Why are you here?!" Basen said snarling matching Draven's movement.
"Aw I'm hurt Basen why wouldn't you want to see your brother?" Draven said laughing
"You are no longer my brother.", rage making his voice quake. He didn't have much time before he fainted after losing so much blood.
"Enough!" Draven dashed catching Basen in his stomach and launching him through the ceiling of the room. He busted through landing on the roof of the building.
Basen howled in pain holding his chest. He looked over and saw Draven jump through the hole.
"weak, still so weak Basen." Draven laughed mocking him as he picked up Basen throwing him to the other side of the roof near the edge then puncing on him and driving his knee into his chest. Picking him up he gave him another toss. Draven slowly followed watching Basen regain his balance, and delivered another heavy blow to the face Basen spun around Back exposed Draven plunged his sword into him piercing the armour and going straight through.
"The mighty Basen will now die!" exclaimed Draven spouting another bout of arogant laughter then tossing Basen again.
Barely hanging onto life Basen turned seeing Draven walking towards him to finish him off, Its over he though he has lost too much blood the blade he could feel went straight threw the left lung, he could hardly believe, not even able to mumble in pain from lack of air.
"What are you going to do now, Basen what!? I have you right where I want you."
It may be over but Basen knew the only thing to was end Draven's life with his. With his last breathe of life he pulled Draven into him, forcing the blade into him and causing them both to fall off the roof. As he fell Basen felt life slipping his grasp, the air became cold but finally the pain was gone.
The two warriors hit the ground causing the rest of the blade to fully go through Draven ending his life at the same time. The armour began to disappear, Basen laid there looking up at the sky and Lydia trying to save his life, but he was beyond help. Basen smiled as his vision began to blur his last image was a small woman with bright blue eyes looking down on, "good bye" was the last he would hear from her
