Round 234 Entry to The Amazing 55 Word Story

“Go to the first floor...tonight!”

I did as asked; the unlocked door creaking open into an unlit foyer. 

The unsteady banister and a squeaking floorboard on the third step had me shivering. 

With pounding heart and wide eyes the door to the only lit room was pushed slowly open. 

“Surprise!”, the nineteen guests yelled.
