Second installment.
How do we live through rationalization and fears? How do we wake up determined not to try? “It’s better this was”; “I know how this will end anyway”; “we’re safer like this”. Heard this? Said this? We live through an odious damned lie. A web created as our own safety net, catching us if, Lord forbid, we fall flat on our faces. There’s a problem though! If we don’t try we will never go anywhere! We will waste our dreams, our loves, our wants, our desires on the assumption that we will go nowhere. But that’s not enough for us. In stifling our dreams we also crush the dreams of those around us, those who are involved in the dreams we are too damn afraid to realize. This is not only selfish but a pathetic act of human existence. We rationalize dreams so that we cannot fail. However, through rationalizations we do fail. Through fear we do fail. Fear itself is not evil. When we allow fear to immobilize us we find the evil. What do we fear? Why do we fear? Our fears cause us to rationalize, to stop before we are able to begin. Rationalization is murder; to kill something you fear, something that could be great, is despicable. How do we live through rationalization and fear? We cannot.
