A lesson learned as an older person.
As I was growing up from high school graduate, to a husband, to a father I always looked at the men who were older than me and thought to myself, "They've got it all figured out." I really did that with age came the answers to all the questions and the secrets that younger men didn't know.

Now that I'm old enough to have grandchildren, I've found one answer. The answer is for every new experience you have, man or woman, someone else has figured it out and survived. That's all. Other people have probably done it and come out OK.

It seems so simple, but it has proven true. Trips to new places don't stress me like they used to. Problems at work aren't nearly the drama they used to be.

The great part is that if you can't figure it out, you can always ask.
