This is my entry for today's writer's cramp competition.
The wind whipped through her white blonde hair
Framing her face with a golden halo of light.
Her black dress mirrored the sea of darkness
Shining above her head, lit with a million stars.
He watched her dance across the small balcony,
With burning, reproachful eyes narrowed at her gaiety.
An owl screeched above him, taunting him with freedom
While he was imprisoned in a feeble body
For many years to come.
The hairs on his back stood up as he felt the presence behind him,
Traitor!
His best friend, arms surrounding the one he loved,
Placing soft kisses on her ivory neck;
A harsh deceitful look in his steel, grey eyes.
It was he who had imprisoned him,
Used dark magic to overpower strength
And steal away innocence and naivety.
For now he watched, eyes glinting in the darkness,
Feline body on edge, ready to pounce,
Plotting revenge and an escape to freedom.
For now he waited, until the day
That his love woke up from her stormy spell.
