For the fallen angels.
You glide through dreams untold,

no, not just mine, but us all.

When this day comes, we know it well,

that a smile so symbolic is sure to show.

Til this day you are missed,

dreams that grasp or leave your mist,

the faint attachment and the words you spoke,

sometimes we ask; Are you here? Are you listening?

As you answer us all with your shelter of surprises,

lead us not towards your sorrows,

but your smiles.

It's not selfish at all,

when we long only to see you one more time.

Many say goodbye,

but angels never really leave.

Frowns and malevolent faces can interpret the rage you felt,

though underneath it all,

it was poison not yours,

but the witches who paid their toll.

And now another year comes by,

without you here by our side,

when this day comes,

know that you are on our thoughts.

If I could hug or hold you now,

I'd never let you go,

for only twelve hours in a day is so little to bare.

There are other places to explore,

we know, so let your wings take you there.

Just promises us all,

that you look upon us now,

the smiles and struggles we get through each day,

sadness and tears we dare give in,

all for you, we cherish you.

So smile for us and hold us dear,

another year and many more,

we hold you close, rest at ease,

our beloved dove.
