A poem of intent.
When someone can do good
that person should.
When we have the opportunity
to make a difference,
cast away the sorrow of this life
and reignite the passion we lose in age
for noble and sincere adoration
of all the things in this world we cannot understand,
we have an obligation to see it through.

There are only so many chances,
so few times that come to pass
where we can divert the course of man
from the sinkholes of depression
that trip us up with such regularity,
causing so many to stay down
and never step forward again.
“Let someone else go on,” we say.
“Let them bear the burden.”

But we have come so far.
Our world was once so small
and since grown from a seed possibility
into an ecosystem of determination,
a web of daring endeavors,
widening our realm from the caves of old
into the infinite expanses of our universe.

And so I say that if you can create,
use the tools of thought and imagination,
if you can paint with a brush
or with a bucket of words,
if you can sing a tune
or harmonize the physics of quantum structure,
do it!
And do not stop for all your days.
Feed on the unending passion of our kind
and live unto a greater age
where the world we once knew
has become one we never saw coming.
