Missing Unborn

A birth of a child is magical and a blessing to the family. Maria was an expecting mother and was waiting desperately for the new member to be part of her family.  One fine day, she went out to buy the groceries. On the way, she came across a cemetery where certain community people disposed off their beloved bodies so that vultures can feed upon them. There were several myths about this dumping ground, one being that the cemetery is haunted by the spirits of dead who have not been buried with all rituals.

With onset of dusk, Dave returned from the work. After parking the car, he knocked at the door  again and again but Maria did not open. He enquired her whereabouts from the neighbors and searched her on the nearby streets but all in vain and thus decided to inform the cops. Cop Canny filed the missing report and asked Dave to wait in the cabin. Finally she went to her senior's cabin and said "Sir, the attention-grabbing element is: only pregnant woman are disappearing from the nearby areas. Since last ten days, we have filed twenty five missing reports out of which twenty three are expecting mothers." The figures were definitely alarming. Upon repeated request by Dave, the officials allowed him to be the part of investigation. As the officials started collecting the clues, one fact was pretty clear: all the missing women were last seen near the cemetery. "Could it be the spirits of dead kidnapping the pregnant women?" Dave thought. Cop Canny instantly said " Unless we go there, nothing can said or done." Thus they left for the cemetery on the same night. It was a big dumping ground. Foul smell of decay was enough to kill any living being. With a mask on their face, they started strolling over the decayed bodies. Finally one of the cops saw some movement among the dead. Thinking it was a spirit, he shouted "Ghost! Ghost!” As he lost balance and slipped over one of the skeletons, a handle below his hips got tilted. A huge door covered with dried grass opened up. Canny asked everyone to follow her. There was a huge tunnel which ended into the chamber. Dave was startled to see such a giant laboratory in the chamber. The chamber finally opened into a restroom which had six feet tall several transparent closets. The closets were password protected and the ladies were locked in them. Dave started looking for Maria and stopped at one of the closet where she was lying unconscious. Several tubes were inserted neatly into her abdomen. These tubes ended into a secluded machine in the closet that looked like a computer. These small monitors were further connected to mainframe like system lying at the extreme left of the chamber. Her eyes were closed and lips had turned blue. She was fastened by her limbs.

Suddenly some vague structures with blue face, round black eyes and no nose appeared from nowhere. These structures were approximately four feet tall and had limbs longer than the rest of their body. Inappropriately structured, they appeared from some other world. Canny shouted "Fire!" and other cops followed her orders. But no bullet killed these blue beings. In a jiffy, many more blue shaped figures had surrounded the cops and Dave. Some were deformed with no limbs and others were like the same blue being that had killed the junior cop. “There is no way to kill these out of world creatures." Dave shouted. Canny was a courageous cop and didn't want to give up. As soon as she got closer to any of the alien being, they would distant themselves from her. With a big blow from one of the alien, she banged her head against the wall. The perfume bottle dropped from her pocket. The flowery fragrance was all over. Blue aliens got dizzy. Canny was a good observer, thus she ordered few of the cops to get the perfume bottles and in meantime kept these beings busy. As the cops got the bottle, she started spraying them on the aliens. Most of them died. But still some deformed blue aliens were alive. Canny noticed a chemical filled tank in the corner of the chamber which had a big hose pipe. She spilled the perfume in the tank and opened the hose pipe and started spraying the compound over the deformed aliens. Finally all the creatures in the chamber and restroom were dead.

One of the cops unlocked the cupboard using hacking program. Slowly the cops unlatched the ladies and took them to the hospital for physical and psychological examinations. After performing the necessary test, doctor said that no lady is pregnant anymore. Upon enquiring, cops came to know that these aliens were abducting pregnant women to suck out the blood from the unborn and spray it onto the dead aliens. The remnant of the unborn would disintegrate into the womb itself causing terrible pain. Dead aliens would then come back to life. Though these alien zombies were not free from all the deformities, they were stronger than their fellow aliens. These aliens wanted to create an army of zombie aliens to protect their own planet. Nobody could believe their eyes and ears. Missing Pregnant women were no longer pregnant. All the analytical and logical minds were put to rest after this incident. Finally the report was send to the President of the nation. Mr. President, with the consent of the local community who use to dispose off their beloved bodies in the dumping ground, ordered to bombard the cemetery immediately. It took Maria two long years to recover from the loss. She was pregnant again. She had been visiting her gynecologist regularly. The flashes of that particular episode kept haunting her. On a beautiful spring day, Dave rushed her to the hospital after she yelled in labor pains. Post difficult caesarian she delivered a baby girl with extra long limbs.
