There was a siren; I could hear it grow louder as it came down the street, then it just wailed loudly outside of my house, “Why were they at my house” I said to myself. I just barely heard the knock at the door, before the cops entered the house. They told me to set the bottle down; I’m assuming they figured I could use it as a weapon. Two large but pudgy officers forced me to the ground, as I was read my Miranda rights. I was so dumbfounded I had no clue what was going on. I had my first trip to the police station, unfortunately in the back of the squad car. I was of course given a phone call, but I had nobody to call, no friends no family, so I didn’t even make the call. I was sitting in one of those rooms with a one-way mirror when I found out what I was being accused of. The officer opened his mouth; I could see the stringy saliva connecting the roof of his mouth to his lip. I could see the words forming on his lips as he began to speak “Sir, did you or did you not perform a rolling stop at the corner of Hamilton and East 10th. St.?” I was amazed all this for that what has our justice system came to?
