The anger rushed to my face as she sobs for her lost loved one. Her cries rip into my nerves like a knife into a pumpkin on Halloween. I wish with all my might she would just get over him, but no matter how much I say, yell or beg she still cries. I watch her as I wait for a distraction or remedy for this horrible scene. Tears fall into the basket she clings to. Inside are the belongings he gave her before he left. She weeps as she rubs the stripes of his favorite jacket to her tear soaked face. The scent of his favorite axe flavor fills her nose, making her muscles tense and her nerves shoot the pain of a loss through her body. I can’t stand to hear her cry, it infuriates me. I sputter and shout at her while waving the spoon I was just using violently through the air. She rummages through the basket of trinkets, ignoring my shouts. As she searches, I barely hear the doorbell over her outcries. I answer to see her ex at the door and I grab my coat to leave with my new boyfriend.
