A song I wrote about my dad a year or so ago who recently passed. R.I.P. Dad
Put down the bottle

And pick up your brain

I can smell your breath

From a mile away

Watch how you look at me,

The things that you say

I might be here now,

But that doesn't mean I'll stay

I've been heartbroken

Wide open

For everyone to see

I've been not good enough all my life

And that's not good enough for me

If I'm not good enough

Then put me in my place

I know i'm not good enough

So say it to my face

Don't lock up all your thoughts

Give them to me straight

Like the liquor that you drink

I don't like being sober

Because when I am I can think

Think that I'm not good enough

Do you see this?

You're hiding behind a mask

And yet you still bleed

From all of the broken glass

Still you walk

Down you're liquidated path

To deal with you

Requires more patience than what I have

I've been heartbroken

Wide open

For everyone to see

I've been not good enough all my life

And that's not good enough for me

If I'm not good enough

Then put me in my place

I know I'm not good enough

So say it to my face

Don't lock up all your thoughts

Give them to me straight

Like the liquor that you drink

I don't like being sober

Because when I am I can think

Think that I'm not good enough

Go ahead and down another

Maybe you'll get a little number

I'm not dealing with emotions gone wrong

I'm not going to take the beatings so you can feel strong

I'm not good enough?

Oh well, I've heard it all before

You're filled with alcohol and material glamour
