Breaking up with someone after a serious relationship is a very difficult thing to do. You have to consider the fact that you are going to hurt the feelings of the person you were with. There are so many elements that hit you once the deed has been done. Here are a couple of them. Whether you are the one doing the dumping, or you are the dumpee, breakups are very hard on you emotionally. If you are the dumpee, you feel an overwhelming sense of rejection. The feeling that you were never truly wanted in the first place. If you are the one doing the dumping, you have to live with the fact that you are putting that other individual through that. When you are the one leaving someone, you question yourself like crazy. If they're nice, it makes it even harder to do. You find yourself wondering if you are doing the right thing. You ask yourself what could have happened if you didn't leave him. You wonder if you are even capable of having a good relationship. Another really hard part of breaking up, is being alone. It feels so good to be with someone. Even if you weren't in the right relationship, at least you weren't alone. You had someone. And now you don't. You're alone. Again. Eventually, you will get back into the dating scene, which can be just as difficult as being alone. You have to search, and meet new people. You have to go through the process of getting to know somebody new. All the while, there's that chance that this could turn out just as bad, if not worse, then your last relationship. Finally, it's time for you to move on, and that just may be the craziest part of all of it. After a while, knowing that it could happen again, you open yourself up again. You learn to hope again, and you continue on the path of finding that person of your dreams. Break ups are a painful thing to experience. But, remember, that each time it does happen, that it's just another one of life's lessons. It's going to make you stronger. Life will go on, but you will never forget. You'll continue searching for happiness, and one day, you're going to find it. You will find the person that feels like they were made just for you. In a sense, they complete you. And you will have everything that you've ever dreamed of, and more. |
