So much pontential

A whole hour for writing! Sitting in front his computer he looks at the blank page.. There is so much potential there! Anything could be written on a blank page! He sits and stares at the screen. What to write? There are so many choices -- an infinite amount for a blank page!

Pick a word, any word. Just start! Ah, not yet, he's got to get comfortable. Coffee! Yes, he needs coffee. 10 minutes pass as he sets the machine up, and waits for it to brew. Walking back to the computer with his coffee he settles into the chair again setting the precious beverage in the same spot on the tray next to the computer that he always puts his coffee.

Ok! Now it's time to start! A blank page, ... yes, just pick a word and get typing! What word? He makes a face and looks over at the coffee. Hand around it he feels the warmth of the cup as he lifts it to take a sip before setting it down again.

Ok, get typing. Blank page, check. A word? A plan! yes, he needs a plan! What plan?

So much potential on a black page. Too much potential on a blank page. A writing tip, yeah, that's what he'll do. Hmm, what was that website that had all those writing tips? Switching to his web browser his home page shows he's got email. Oh, a friend wants to throw a party, he switches over to his calendar and checks the day.

Wait, look at the clock. He only had an hour to write and half of it's gone already!

Quick write something! What?! Take a sip of ... the coffee cup is empty? When did that happen? Um, no time to make more. Just write something! Forget even looking up writing tips.

The hour is up and he's sitting in front of a blank page on the computer screen. So much potential there. Maybe tomorrow he'll write something.
