A political poem with comment about a rather infamous contemporary Argentine government.
The deck has been packed
The odds have been stacked
The numbers follow the king
They listen to what he may sing

Many songs of justice in a tyrant’s voice
His melodies of freedom are rough noise
The concert is years long and God forbade
Anyone should question the King of Spades

His shallow Queen sits on the throne
To assure the King he is not alone
Four Jacks gather around his feet
So the numbers’ food they can eat

The numbered Hearts are often killed
By numbered Spades so weak willed
The King he laughs, he does not care
He shuns numbers, shuns their despair

For as long as off the numbers he can thrive
He does not care, he’ll discard some still alive
For his jangled heart might just end its lapse
When his rotten house of cards might collapse
