Some people need help waking up.
We, you and I, aren’t like other people. Our eyes are open while they don’t have eyes at all. Their senses have yet to be created, let alone set free. They are drones; they work to live and live to work. We do not.

Take this young lady in front of us. Sure, she’s unconscious, but when she ‘wakes up’ she won’t be any more alive than she is right now. I can change that, we, can change that. With just a few, simple alterations to her brain waves we can open the flood gates of her mind and set her free to explore the vast reaches of reality. We can give her eyes, and when they open she will begin a journey like no other.

Or, we can wake her up and let her go back to her 17th floor box apartment; straight to bed for an early rise, she’s got a very important meeting in the morning.

I like her, so I’m going to give her those eyes. You, on the other hand, have your own apprentice to choose soon. It’s been 4 years since I gave you the gift of sight and you’ve gone above and beyond to prove to everyone that I made the right choice plucking you off the streets. Just remember, if they’re not ready, do not force them. I can’t stress enough the importance of prepping your chosen, it’ll be a long and frustrating project, but when they’re ready to join you, I promise you it’ll be worth the effort.

I know what you’re wondering and yes, it can go bad. If your chosen isn’t ready to see and you flick open the blinds too soon then yes, it will go bad. She will be seeing colours she’s never seen before, feeling emotions for the first time; she will be like a newborn baby. She will also be scared, and unlike a newborn baby, she will be strong.  She will question everything and believe nothing. She will hate you and you will get hurt beyond belief.

Now, I don’t mean to frighten you, I believe the awakening of your apprentice will go as smoothly as my awakening of you went. Now go and find her, before she slips away.

If anything does go wrong then the best thing you can do is shut yourself down for a while. Sever all ties from the streets and let her try to awaken herself, she will be scared and alone but she may have a chance. I’m sure you’re going to find a perfect apprentice with a very high willpower; you have the gift of seeing people’s true potential like I do. She will be strong enough to do this alone if she must, and she’s just going to have to deal with it.
