Wrote this after a difficut breakup this past summer.
Destructive title wave flooded my land
Gone is my paradise, crushed by her hand
One wave and my foundation was shook
One look from another, that's all it took
The garden I planted now without seed
Why didn't she seek caution, take heed?
Now the waters run and furious they bleed
Forced to change where the river runs less
Clarity of mind put to the test
The willow weeps, yet dry is the sand
The roots have rotted where the tree must stand
Clouds of misery haunting the light
Images and voices ruin the night
Quickly you swam to another shore
Ripped from my book are the pages you tore
The chapters we wrote are burned in a flame
One must seek fire to quench out the blame
Heated desire difficult to tame
Will it ever wash the hurt and the shame?
The safety net you need is beginning to crumble
The ground is cracked and I fear to stumble
Must ride the wave surfing life's trials
Too much poison, eliminate the vials
The branches are weak but new life I seek
The mountain I climb, the path to the peek
is surrounded by stone, the support I seek
Clear the debris so new steps are lead
Catastrophy and destruction is the life I fled
New beginnings bring hope and peace
I must restrain the angry beast
The road ahead seems many a mile
But again I find my humorous smile
Clear the floor, rip up the tile
You're becoming just a deleted file
Don't hold your breath
I'll be gone for awhile...
