My overseas adventurer has just missed her last flight back to her home state
Time was tight as Emily stood at the train station waitng for the next train. She had just missed one, and while the next train was due in a matter of minutes, it was enough time to change the whole outcome of what she was trying to do. It would make a difference in her making the check in on time. In another time the minutes would be insignificant, but at the moment……..
The train was on it’s way. Emily kept looking at her watch, and checking the time of her flight, and checking her watch again. As if by magic the hands would show her a time she had seen before. If she kept looking at her watch, time would crawel slowly and the trip would take less time then stated on the timetable and she would make it.

In her heart of hearts she knew it to be crazy. Sitting on a train it was all she could do. Fate was out of her hands for the moment. Unless the impossible happened, she was getting to the airport at the time stated and not a moment before. Clinging to hope was all she could do as the train made it’s way to the airport.

Once at the airport, she ran to find the storage area. She picked up the phone and asked for her bags.
“okay someone will be there soon”
She looked at the time running out on her watch. She cursed.
At last someone come and opened the door to the security room. She collected her bags and ran as fast as she could . She found the correct chek in counter, and.......
“I’m sorry check in for this flight has closed”
“what!” exclaimed Emily, “ I had to wait for security”
“I'm sorry, but our policy is check in closes half hour before the flight leaves.”
Emily had to reframe herself from swearing and yelling. Much as she would have liked to it wasn’t going to get her anywhere.
“When is the next flight to Launceston?” she asked, keeping her temper in check.
“Not until tomorrow morning"
"Is there any way I can get to Launceston?"
"I'm sorry not tonight"
Emily gave up. She had missed her flight. All the planes she had caught over the cause of her time away, and the only trouble she had was the last flight back to her home state. The irony of it all.

Stopping to talk with some others who had also missed the flight, she then made her way to another airline.
"Hi, when is the next flight to Tasmania?"
"Not till tomorrow"
"Is there a flight to Melbourne tonight?"
"there is to melbourne, but not to tasmania" replied the girl behind the check in counter.
