My Sons Second Chance

Leaving a broken home to catch the bus again.
Put on a happy face and pretend.

Parents who fought, he was fighting not to be.
Began looking to get "red eyes" wanting not to see.

A High School Diploma was his goal for eleven years.
To start adulthood as a failure invited overwhelming fear.

A rule with no tolerance on excessive absentee's.
Took more then a Graduation, took all his self esteem.

Wishing to change his bad decisions came just a little too late.
Repeated choices in the future could of been his fate.

With perseverance to beat his past.
Wanting help he continued to ask.

"Is there help for people like me"?
" I no longer know where I'm supposed to be".

His Guidance Counselor heard his plea.
A second chance is what he needs.

You gave a completion to his first real accomplishment.
Produced a new young man beaming with visible confidence.

Seeking knowledge brought belief in succeeding.
Believing in Dreams with the ability at achieving.
