" 'Tis almost finished Eva." Lucinda sounded from across the room. I was standing in front of the oval window anxiously watching for the sun. It was just about over the evergreens.
" Please hurry Lucy," I urged, "the sun is about up. I'll burst into flames if it touches my skin."
"Thou art a creature of the night," she replied flatly, "why can't ye accept it?" I shuddered at the mention of night. It sent a cold chill up my spine.
"I'm sick of an eternity of darkness...I need light." Lucinda sighed at my stubbornness, dipped a small cup into the potion, walked over to the window and handed it to me reluctantly. I put the cup to my lips and tipped it up making sure every drop cascaded down the inside of the cup into my mouth. I needed the sun. I couldnt hide in this sinister, gloomy, spiderweb-filled attic forever. I finished the potion just as the sun peeked over the trees and shone brightly through the window.
