Just a thought
disgusting

It was just that last time I went out, my brother got killed. I did however have to eat and doing what I did got me that, if nothing else. So I got myself ready and wandered out, not knowing exactly which direction to go but as it didn’t make that much difference I just walked away from the setting sun’s rays.
Same old routes, same corners where rotting food lay. I could go rummaging through it but last time I did that I was ill for days, I longed for something fresh like a half eaten hot dog or the like. I hated the way people looked at me, I was what I was, but they always looked at me as if I was beneath them, so so beneath them. As a result I got nothing from them except disgust, oh yes they gave me plenty of that.
My brother’s death was still lingering in my mind as I wandered aimlessly. Only a single blow to the head but with such force it broke and cracked spilling some of its contents onto the ground. I could do nothing, fearing for my own life I ran as fast as I could. I turned once to see the person stamp on my brothers head. Why, I kept saying, he was already dead, there was no need to be so brutal, what was wrong with these people.
I snapped back from my mental thoughts, all they did was to weaken my focus on my needs. I was hungry and hadn’t eaten properly for a few days. I was desperate and decided to go back to where my brother died, as the area was new and looked promising to get something to eat.
It was dark now, night time, the best time to come out as you could get away if there was any sign of trouble and I knew all the hideouts and shortcuts to safety.  I stopped, I knew I was exactly where the death had taken place but didn’t expect it to be so clean. Some blood perhaps, but nothing, clean, in fact so clean it disgusted me. My brother wiped out without a trace, without a single trace.
I only had time to reflect on that thought for half a second before I was blinded by light so fierce I was stunned. I knew in some way being in the same location, that this was also my time to die. I froze and waited for the inevitable. I looked up and slightly to my rear and to check my escape route but it was too late. A huge object placed my whole body in shadow and I felt an unbearing crushing on my head and body. I felt my life drain away as I watched my blood stain the floor, and shouting voices in the background.
“Hey  Thelma, I just killed that other big disgusting cockroach, hopefully we have seen the last of them”
