DID WE CONQUER?

we all went to the field
everyman with bow and arrow
aiming to get the best yield
through the pains and sorrow

i looked about in a flash
all i knew were conquered
i fought on like a flash
trying to keep my mind out of wonder

arise my brothers let's fight
we haven't won the battle
my strenght i transferred in a light
and up they came to join the struggle

alas the sun was going to rest
and my brothers and i ached with thirst
yet the battle was still tensed
and each fought so fierce

we stood aside and watched
all we had vehemently slain
the day had become faint
we had lost all and gained

we all shared the glory
and the battle remains history
while we live to tell the story
as we sang with tears of victory

after all the slaughter
you might wonder our number
we were out numbered
but i remained to conquer.
