This place is big and bright.
I hear and see strange things.
I like you best.

Your breast is where I eat and sleep.
There's a whole world in your lap.
Songs, smiles, sounds, and love.

I see your eyes above me,
You're always smiling
Your touch is kind and warm

You are my world,
but it's getting bigger than just you.
I like and dislike that.

I am so small and my legs are unsure.
Your hands feel strong around me.

I am finding myself with some fear and consequence.
It seems I  am always getting closer to danger.
I feel this curious need to get into everything.

The teacher is calling, you hand me my lunch.
Will the kids like me?
The teacher is pretty but not like Mommy.
Hold onto Me.

He's a senior.
We both like the same music and food.
I feel like I know everything and nothing.
Hold onto Me.

I'm throwing up, every day.
No tucked-in shirts.
I can't tell anyone,
Hold onto Me.

He gave me a ring.
We have our own place.
I promise I'll finish school.
Hold onto Me.

He's gone.
He left the bills though.
I feel like a failure, Not a Mom.

They said it's a "choice" and safe.
It's not safe for either of us.
I feel cold.
Hold Onto Me.

Doctor and nurses left me alone,
They couldn't care less about us.
A red stain pours onto the sheet.
My Mom, your Grandma forced her way in here.
Mommy, please hold onto me.

My mother is crying .
She can't let go of me, her baby.
I'll never let go either Mommy.
But I'm going with my baby to Jesus
So remember us ... and hold onto me.
