Once upon a time, there lived a charming egret,
With a graceful stoop, whose name was Margaret,
Flying over wetlands and marshes, but yet,
Despite being clear, was always filled with regret!
In and out of the wetlands, she flew,
But every which way she departed, she knew
Friends would challenge her, and she would rue,
The constant charge, and what she’d go through…
But her amazing friends would examine her part,
In their storied lives, and give her a start –
She’d summarize for them, and pray thou art,
Then hit the road, so to speak, like the tastiest tart!
We always speak well of our most stubborn friends,
But even this charming egret’s heart mends,
For Margaret the Egret, her cherished mind ends,
With the rigid, cool affection her old family sends!
