A love poem. |
I could never phrase the thoughts that enter My mind as I write these words, nor could I Seem to comprehend the way the stars were Aligned that night. I cannot begin to explain The crunch of the leaves under pointed shoes Or to fathom the screaming blow of the cold Wind, and the way it made me feel. And I recall, above it all, that I can see the moon. The one thing I recall that night is something They will never know. The smile that played upon Your face, and laugh that brought me to life Reflected off the moon. The ceiling’s dead Over my head, I know it, ‘cause I can see the Moon. I roll up the stars as a map in my pocket, Ignoring the barrier over my head. You know that all I ever see is you, and your Silhouette shining, and it’s all under the moon. You know the cautious words I speak tonight And let me play them out forever. As long as you Are in my life, and I can see the moon, you know That I will find my way. But I do not know what it is about you that is Imposing upon me, but I can safely say I Find something here. And the night will Speak to me as I lie, and staring at the moon. |
