This is a ruff draft, It has has a bit of everything.
Corrine

The effects of the Great Depression were finally starting to disappear. The year was 1940, and it was suppose to be the begging of what should have been a new era of hope, and prosperity. Only for some it was.

However, the sad grim reality was that those who were sick tended to receive very little or no medical care before the Depression had finally came to an end.

Corrine was all of just 16 when her father fell ill with cancer. It raged through his body with great force. His health was declining very rapidly.

Her Mother, Angela, and Father Octavio once ran a booming Italian Restaurant in upstate New York City . Business began to declined do to his failing health. Finally it took its toll on the restaurant, and Octavio as well. He was the chef, as well as the manager. There for with out him there they could not keep the restaurant open.

The money that they made was quickly disappearing due to the high coast of his medical bills. He would soon die just six months after he had been diagnosed.

Corrine’s Mother Angela would soon remarry after her father had past away. He left the two of them virtually penniless. To survive, her mother waited tables at another local restaurant. It was a small, quaint, establishment two blocks down from were they lived. As time went on, she met there what she had hoped would be the answer to all her despair. The man’s name was Jim. When he began to court Angela he came across as an upstanding man with high morals.

Jim came in everyday after he got done working at the local gas station as a mechanic. He would soon get to know about Angela, and her tails of woe through ideal chit chat. They would flirt with each other relentlessly.  This made Angela feel good. She absorbed it, and feed off of it. She very often felt tired, and old. He prayed upon the fact that he knew that she was in need of more financial stability. He then lead her to believe that he was greater than he rely was.

Soon he began courting her. He was taking her out to movies, long walks in the park, and dinners.

Two month’s into the courtship he took her to dinner. When they finished eating he proposed.

"Thank you so much for that Jim." Angela said as she reaches across the table and placed her hand on his.

"You welcome Doll. I have something more for you as well." Jim said grinning at her.

Just then he pulled a small red box from his pant pocket, and opened it. Angela looked at it hopping it was what it turned out to be. There laid a simple gold band with a small diamond set into it.

"Angela, I would be honored to have you by my side until the day I die. Will you marry me?" Jim said in a smooth tone.

Just then she placed both hands on her moth and let out a gasp.

”Yes!” She answered..

He removed the ring out of the box and placed it onto her finger. Her hand was shaking from the excitement.

The smile that she had on her face at that moment was beaming. Angela was ecstatic! She felt as though she could breathe a sigh of relief thinking that she would live an easier life with the help of a man, and the additional income he would bring to the home, along with the fact that Corrine would have a man in her life that she could look up to.

The next day Angela was off of work at the cafe. They both agreed that it would be a great opportunity for him to come over to her apartment to meet Corrine.

The fallowing night after Angela and Jim finished seeing a movie Jim drove them over to Angela’s apartment. When they walked into the apartment they found Corrine sitting on the couch in their small family room waiting for them to arrive.

"Corrine this is the man that I have been bragging to you about. His name is Jim." She said with a glowing face.

Corrine could see the happiness in her eyes. She was happy to see that her Mother was able to find someone to fill the void that was left in heart after her Father passed away.

Jim walked over to Corrine. She was expecting a simple hand shake; instead he brushed his hand on her cheek.

"You have a face of angle." He said with a smirk on his face.

Corrine was not naive. It sent a chill up her spine when he looked at her. She could tell that he had nothing more than perverse thoughts running through his mind when he looked into her eyes. She soon noticed the coldness that he had in him. The smile that she had on her face faded.
