The car ride

The car was holding someones daughter, someones son, and someone elses son. The music was loud as they headed out of town. One guy was the boyfriend to the girl. The other was just the "friend", or so everyone thought. If people would have paid more attention they would have seen the longing glances between the two friends. The boyfriend never noticed, but even if he had he wouldn't have cared. He knew that she would never leave the comfort and safety that only comes from being with someone so long. Back to that car ride. The music was so loud they couldn't hear the horn or the screaming tires being burned by the road. The impact was sudden and the outcome was disasterous. Only two made it home, but the lies stopped. There was no need to hide the longing looks; she was free to be with who she wanted.
