                Even Insurmountable odds can be beaten!

  We all waited, it seemed like forever as time iched by, fear in our hearts that the unthinkable might happen. As the clock ticked and ticked till it reached midnight, but we still knew we would have to wait longer, because my half brother had to drive home from the mill.My uncle just said," I'm afraid he isn't coming home tonight," When we heard the car drive into the yard.I was off of the chesterfield like a shot and my uncle was with me.We met my brother before he got the car stopped. My uncle told him what had happened.
  My mom said to my brother when he came in the house,"Maybe you can start the old army 4x4 with the gin poles on it and drive it, as close to the horse as you can." My brother started up the big truck and we all returned to the bog. Gary drove it as close to the bog as he could get, but it was hopeless. We couldn't get anywhere near the colt.The heavy cable from the truck wouldn't reach anywhere close to where the horse was, the ground was so soft it wouldn't hold up the truck.
  So the four of us had to try one more time, to try getting the horse out by hand.The red roan colt had just about given up and had resigned to his fate in the bog. My uncle said,"Maybe you can help get his front feet out and his tail!" My brother Gary said, "I sure will, because I'm not a fraid of getting hurt by the horse. He got down on his knees in the mud and after a few minutes, had dug out the horses long tail, and Gary put a rope on it.Then he crawled to the front of the horse and dug out his two front feet as best he could. Gary stoud up and said,"Get ready to pull. We got ready !
