"this number can't be connected..."
The closest I get, the further I move
advise given, batteries removed--
just a girl who lives in a remote place.

The phone rings, not for her
but for who she used to be--
" this number can't be connected..."

If you believed in miracles,
would the world change--
could the world handle who I've become?

Her reflection speaks of destruction,
of history, of people who've forgotten;
the lonely person behind the face.

Can you not see me,
falling apart at the seams?
as Cliche as that might be?

"I never knew you could be so insightful."
a sly reveal of who she is,
but of course, no one ever knows.

even the past fades away.

even she fears the truth,
         and what she leaves behind.
