A Leaf in the Wind is my first poem, written after my son left for college
A Leaf in the Wind

Like a leaf in the wind
We see our life change
Blowing one way then another
And maybe back again

We watch our children grow
And then we watch them leave
Their own life to live
Their own way to go

They may come back to us
But only for awhile
They have so much to see and do
Their own life to live

Someone once said Parting
Is such sweet sorrow
But I can't see the part that's sweet
I wish it could have been another week
