[Introduction]
The name of the film is “Angst for the Memories”. I started writing “Angst” back in 2003. I always believed when it comes to writing that the best fiction is based on fact. After the first draft I stopped thinking of it as a screenplay and more of a journal filled with my thoughts, feelings and experiences as well as for the people I run into in everyday life. Now as to whose thoughts, feelings and experiences they are well that’s really up to the audience to figure out. Even though all the characters are fictional everything that is written in the story is based after true events and conversations. It can be funny to most and offensive to others. It falls under the genre of comedy/drama inspired by films such as Melvin Goes to Dinner, Anniversary Party, The Big Chill and Highball. “Angst for the Memories,” embraces the art of social chatter, featuring the humor that permeates our everyday lives and underlying, interlaced elements of truth. This script is heavily dialect driven with hearty portions of wit as well as the occasional moment of humane revelation. The movie has similar humor as Superbad or Forty Year Old Virgin. |
