Meta-Cognitive Analysis on my Analytical Process for Writing
The aim for every paper I write is to capture the depths of an enlightened understanding that may arise from the ashes of what once existed ignorance. I dive deep into the material I view and I find direct connections to the points that I make which I feel is pertinent to whichever issue is being explored. Understanding that writing fortifies one’s vernacular, and conceptual idealizing I consider the introductory session of my personal writing process as being my ‘learning phase’. I absorb the information that I acquire by drawing lines between contrasting and/or relative things. Unfortunately I realize that my problem is the fact that I love to write in poetical prose…saturating sentences with adjectives that sings on it’s own accord. Every writer must have a foundation, a point to which they can go back to and extract the essential elements that defined the nature of their writing. My foundation is poetry, and it’s influential presence will be reflected in all my forms of writing.
In most cases when I produce a meager or extremely lack luster materials, my fault will either lie in poor preparation or an over all general lack of interest in the topic. I figured that by knowing the material to whichever issue I am addressing I would be able to write a quick exposition. Normally I am wrong. What I learned was that I need to travel beneath the surface and unearth valuable material that will strengthen my points and/or arguments. I learned that a deeper sense of knowing resonates within one’s ability to think above and beyond superficial perspectives. This is what I learned so far. I also found some of my weaknesses…the weakness in which my memoir writing professor titled “too much wordiness” and “pretensive jargon.” Perhaps it is just my poetical essence that surfaces every time I decide to write. Whatever the case may be, I know that it is not working so I am looking for help to explore more effective methods.
All in all, with each creative piece I write, I will grow in a understanding that will nevertheless sharpen my writing skills.
