A very short story on what is real |
Everybody knew of her, the lady who had lost touch. She was well known and cared for in the small town. People gave her a place to live, food to eat and most importantly company. The company had to be special because the company had to pretend and to agree with the ladies delusions. Just a young fifteen year old going to school to meet her friends, she hopped of the bus and laughing with her friends she walked through the school gate. The school gate was in ruins and the emblem that once shined there had been stolen many years ago. She had walked up the two storey building to her locker waving goodbye to her friends as they made their way to theirs. She tried to open the lock but as usual it was stubborn and would not open till around the third try. The locker was moldy and extremely old, most of the other locker doors had fallen off and had graffiti on them but this one was replaced with a lock just for her. It had been a terrible accident. Many school children had died and afterwards the school had been abandoned. It had too many bad memories for the students to come back, the cries and screams of their friends… This lady came here every day just as she had when she was fifteen. She wouldn’t believe that it all had been taken away from her, and every day she lived an illusion. ……..How do you know what you are living is real? |
