A free-write of a story that has yet to be finished..
I felt the warm rush of blood as it rushed down my back. The pain from my neck stinging with such a cold, and icy edge. Blackness rimmed the blurred vision of my sight, yet all i could see was a grayish hue. I reached for something -- anything to pull me off the dirt ground;; but all that my fingers grasped was the thick, damped air. I closed my eyes and shook my head, an attempt to clear my mind of the haze that it was trapped in. Opening my eyes once more i could make out a few black, tall objects -- the tree line of a field it seemed. In the distance, i could hear the rumming engines of cars on a road and felt the vibrations of trucks in the ground.
Slowly, very slowly, i tried to stand on my feet, I had straightend my back and looked from side to side. Still blurry. Then i stumbl;ed forward a few steps, suddenly i couldn't feel my feet below me and the hard earth rushed up to meet me as i fell on my face. My mind was completley blank, i didn't know where i was or how i could've gotten there...so i stayed laying on the ground, the smell of wet dirt strong in my nose..I was searching deep within my mind for a memorie, anything to trigger an idea of how i had gotten where i was -- anything that made sense.
The night-time wind felt nice as it ruffled my hair, i felt a cold shiver as goosebumps raised up on my skin. Twisting onto my back i looked up, at what i hoped was, the sky and saw tiny speckles of light ;; my vision was slowly making its way back to normal. Glancing left in right, there was nothing. Almost instantaeously, i felt a surge of insignificance, lonliness and sadness. I was in the middle of nowhere, and hope had left me.. I tried to shake myself of the negative things, and focused on a brighter subject or moreso on the task at hand. "At least I'm alive", i thought to myself,"but then again, i am in the middle of nowhere." I felt a vibration on my leg and then a melody chimed through the silence of the night;; my hand automatically digs into my pocket and produces a bright, silver cell phone. It did it without me even thinking, like i had known it was there all along. My hand flips it open and presses it against my ear.."Hello?" I say into the phone, almost drunkingly, my words slurring as they roll off of my tongue. "Roxy?! Where the hell have you been? I've been trying to reach you for hours!" The voice is deep, definatly male and it sounds vaguely familair but the name doesn't come to me. "Um, sorry..." I manage to reply. My head began to pound as i forced my self up to a sitting postion, and my it felt heavy upon my worn down shoulders. Blood still ran down my backside, leaving and eerie feeling of warmth on my back. "You were suppose to be here forever ago!!.." I heard the strange voice say. I tried to pay attention, but my mind was digging for a name. "Hello? Hello?" The voice came again. It seemed so far away, yet very near. It jerked me into reality and i answered my mystery caller "What?" A simple answer, but it was all that i could muster
