There were many of us and we bred, hunted, and fed altogether in harmony. We saw cubs fool around and play. We saw adults fight fiercely and pursue deer. We lived in an icy, chilly den. As the moon rose like a diamond in the sky at night, we returned sleepily to our den. The stars were like sapphires and rubies the size of a grain of sand. Many of us were still sleeping when the sun came up. It was as yellow as fresh egg yolk. The blue sky had almost no clouds at all. The sky was as blue as the sea. We wandered around the snow desert and heard thunderous yelling. We raced to our den, as swiftly as our feet could carry us. We were terrified by the sound and the destruction they were making. Squirrels skittered away, out of their holes in the trees. A gigantic fire started and burned the bushes, trees, and grass like a tornado. The smoke made the air very filthy. Some of us peeked out and we could see fires, huts, guns, and people. The people were coming towards us at a high speed. We were hunted for our skin and meat. They made buildings and turned a beautiful wildlife forest into a filthy, ugly town of ashes. The poison gas that came out of smoke stacks and cars was way too much for us. I looked at my vacant den. I was the last snow leopard of them all.
