Something I wrote
This Fire keeps me happy
This Fire keeps me calm
As my world burns
And the ashes gather in my palm
I breathe a sigh of relief
Everything tangible is gone

From substance I find pain
From action I gain regret
But in this inferno's embrace
My scarred mind can forget

This chaos engulfs it all
The gentle lullaby of destruction sounds
And now amongst the ashes
You can find the walls that bound

The anxiety that came
With being chained to such a place
Now melts and pours away
Freedom born of flames

Strike a match and light
The kerosene trail pouring from my eyes
Photographs that burn into shadows
In the twisted red and yellow I find my goodbyes

Oh my sweet how we are one
Consuming the air so that we can go on
But it's only our nature
To simply kill time
Our life grows shorter
The brighter we shine

Cleansed of life's dark matter
Together we shall pass
Black snowflakes cast in summers night
We have found our absolution at last
