In Mathew 6:25-34 Jesus tells us that we shouldn't worry about anything. Anything he says. Our heavenly Father takes care of all the animals and they don't store up food or do anything to prosper but they are given food to eat. So, if that is the way God wants us to live our lives then we don't have to worry about going to work, or waking up, or "providing" for our families, right? To me what Jesus is saying is that for those that can live by faith he will provide. That includes your job, or business, or career. He made those things possible for you.

God doesn't want us to have to worry about the things like clothes, food and shelter because he will provide a means for us to be clothed and sheltered. If we are so worried about the things that we need to survive, we will not have the strength or mindset to focus on our relationship with God.  If you can think for a moment about all the things that you worry about with your professional life and also imagine everyday having to worry about food and clothes for you and your kids, are you going to want to take time for God? Will you have time for God? No, I don't think you will. What Jesus is asking us to do is to let go of those worries, he knows that we need these things to survive.

Then focus on Him, your family, and the means that he has provided for us to take care of basic necessities. Your faith, coupled with your efforts on earth with the work He has provided, will bring you more blessings than you can know. All other things will come. That is what Jesus meant by "strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today." (Mathew 6:33-34 NRSV)
