He Will Never Know

He told her a month ago that he was getting deployed for 15 months,

      As she waits for her fifteenth birthday,
he turns twenty-three.
      He said it doesn't make a difference.
He would love her no matter what the difference in age.
  She knew that was one of the many reasons she loved him.
  He had touched her heart
                      with compliments
                      questions
                      love
                      and childhood memories.
  Everything he did touched her heart.

      Does he know he has her heart in his hands?
          If he lets go, her heart will fall to the dirt,
                only to be stepped on.
                      Where it may never beat again.

      Does he know how gentle he is with her heart and soul?
