A poem of a trusting heart of a person in someones love whom they believe they have.
You don't know how you moved me,
Or how you made me cry.
You promised me your love,
And then you said good-bye.

My heart it lies in pieces,
In a pile without a shape.
From promises never kept or true,
From this there's no escape.

How am I suppose to feel,
Now that you're not around?
My heart, it use to speak to you,
But now it makes no sound.

My heart still tries to talk to you,
But yet you cannot hear.
My hands, they still reach out for you,
But still you disappear.

What do I do, when the one I love
Doesn't love me back?
Was it something I said?, Something I did?,
Or was it something that I lacked?

"What do I do now?" I ask myself,
Now that the one I love is gone.
Everyday gets harder,
I find it hard to continue on.

My love, my life, my soul,
I gave all I had to give.
Without you here to share it with,
There's no reason for me to live.

I know I did the best I could,
I tried harder than I ever tried.
You put me down, you hit me,
And laughed at me while I cried.

I was nothing but a joke to you,
A mat for you to walk upon.
But today I can look at myself and say,
"I'm glad those days are gone!"

Now I know I'll be alright,
And I didn't need you for me to live.
It was always, always, always ME,
You could never give.

It was up to me all along,
To stand up and take my part.
For it was me who loved and healed,
It was I who had the heart.

I don't need you, I never did,
I learned this at a valuable cost.
But the one who learned the most,
Was the one who really lost. . . . YOU!

You don't know how you moved me,
Or how you made me cry.
You promised me forever,
But it was all a lie!  Good-bye!
