For My Love

A poem I wrote for the one I love.

In my mind
visions pass,
creating a longing unkind.
Like that of your smile
which warms my soul;
Tempting my control to unwind.

My thoughts of you,
frequent as they are,
retain my unwavering focus.
When things turn for worse,
you're image is the first
to shield me from my sorrows.

Each passing moment of time
reveals something new;
Another facet of your persona
glittering so much like a jewel
That when I've thought, "I understand now."
And I couldn't fathom anything else,
another gleams into view.

Others may look down upon
or shun these unusual traits,
but they are as refreshing as a new dawn.
They make you more dynamic, more profound;
Encompassing my very heart
until to you it is even more bound.

So just know that I care.
Know that every part of your being
seizes my feelings beyond physical strength.
They are soul bound; further than any ordinary tear.
You've become an irreplaceable part of my life,
Filling it with a love that only with you, I share.
