Two people finding love in all the wrong places.Drama, fantasy, supernatural, romance.
(As told by the main characters. There are two!!)
Love is the key to happiness. At least that is what I was always raised to believe. Then again, my entire life, what I've always believed is a lie anyway. Including that which humans call love. If love is the key to happiness, then why does it hurt? You give someone all of you and they crumple your heart into a ball and through it back at you. Then why? Why do we love? I think it's because we all just want to belong to someone. To feel like your needed. I've felt like that all my life, and when I found him, he gave it to me.He gave me everything I wanted....and everything I needed to know.
My name is Matilda Hayle and I was born in the year 1612. I am over three hundred years old, and by now, I've figured out I'm not human. I honestly can not remember my exact birthday, I stopped celebrating after twenty five. That was the fateful year I realized that I was not of this Earth. On that day, a large mark appeared on my chest, and I have not aged since then. I watched my entire family die, as I continued on, living, experiencing, adapting to the different changes mankind would go through. I went to college for pre-med and even graduated. Now here in the twentieth century, it became easier to do research on things. And yet still, here I am with no clue of what the hell I am.I didn't know that soon these answers would come to me.

How long do I have to sit here and listen to her?! All she does is go on and on about things she does not know. Yes, she is a very strong demon, but not as strong as me. Just one shot and I could end her for good.
"...Darling? Are you listening to me?? Alcozar? Alcozar!"
How many times is she going to say my name like that?? It was demeaning. I'm over five hundred, not five. I should just kill her. I've been meaning to for a while now, it's just...we look so good together, amongst fellow demons. The two strongest demons in the universe, together? Besides, if I gave her my firstborn son, he would be unstoppable. But do hate her so...
"Yes, I'm listening to you."
"Oh, good. Listen to the crowd out there waiting for us! To crown you the Lord of all Demons, and I, to be the mother of your firstborn."
"(grunt)"
The demon woman's grin washed off her face, as she walked towards him. She was so close she could feel his breath on her.
"You are going to make me the mother of your firstborn? Right? Alcozar?"
Alcozar looked down at her and gave a demonic grin.
"Fiona, who other than you would I give such an honor?"
Alcozar did whatever he had to to keep her off of him. He just wanted to get this day over with so he could go kill and be free of this nonsense. Then again, he questioned, why they were having this Gathering for him? Yes, he was indeed the Lord of all Demons, but that was no reason to have a Gathering.
"Do you hear your people chanting your name? They're calling for their leader. Give them what they want."
Demons have no leader, and he knew that Before he could think on the situation, Fiona pulled him out from behind the curtains, and the crowd cheered.
"Quiet! Let your leader speak!"
I really wish she hadn't done that. What the hell was I supposed to say to these people? Gee, thanks for the honor, gotta go???
As Alcozar was about to speak a demon girl spoke out to him.
"Alcozar, you must die!! My fellow people do what you must to destroy him!!"
And with that said, they all attacked. The powerful Alcozar had a smug grin on his face.
"Come and get me if you dare..."
He disappeared leaving Fiona to fend for herself(which she could do).
Alcozar, did not even realize where he had teleported to(somewhere into space), but they were right on his heals. He was surrounded by thousands of demons, what was he gonna do? He laughed and looked at all the weaklings. Suddenly one attacked him, Leaving a practical hole in his body. This did nothing but anger the Demon Lord.
"You all made a big mistake. Not even one of you has enough power to stop me. You will all die here tonight."
With that said, he powered up, shaking everything around him. The others looked as if they finally realized what a bad idea this was. He was so powerful, all that could be seen was a bright white light. By the time it was gone, so were they. All those demons....dead. He was happy, but injured. The only thing he decided was best would be to retreat to the nearest planet to recover. That planet was Earth.

Today was the day Matilda usually gave her time to the poor and needy. During her lifetime, she had seen what starvation truly was. Matilda heard movement in the alley way nearby, so she went to go check it out. It was probably a homeless person, and if so, she knew she could help. She walked down the alley way until she finally saw a dark figure sitting against the wall. He was bleeding profusely from his abdomen, but he was still alive.
"Oh My God! Sir, are you ok? Please let me help you."
As she leaned in toward him to check the fatal wound, he growled at her.
"Don't touch me, filthy human. I don't need your help"
"Excuse me! If I don't help you, no one will, and you'll die here. So come on, let me help you up"
The demon growled with pain as she tried to help him up. It was quite a sight. This petite young woman trying to practically carry this man. He was at least 6'2, and was a very built man.
"Come on, your going to have to carry some of your weight too."
They finally reached her little apartment. She laid him on her bed, blood still everywhere. Matilda ran to get all her necessary medical equipment and came back to him. As she cleaned and wrapped the wound, the best she could, she looked up to see the mysterious figure. The young man fell asleep. Matilda couldn't help but admire his beauty. The man was very handsome. He had a beautiful fair complexion and long jet black hair. He wasn't wearing a shirt when she found him, so his body definitely caught her eye. The one thing Matilda could not figure out, were the tattoos on his arm. At least, thats what she thought they were. They almost looked like tiger marks, but bigger. There were three on each arm. From what little she knew about him, he didn't look the type to sit in a tattoo parlor and get those done. Matilda simply removed those thoughts from her head. All that mattered to her was that her patient get better. She turned out the light and went into the living room, leaving her new guest some time to rest and heal.
Alcozar woke up feeling a slight pain in his lower abdomen. He was trying to remember....the Gathering, the attack....and then the woman. Where was he? He remembered landing somewhere, but that's all he remembered. Alcozar heard footsteps approaching.
"Oh, you're finally awake. I was beginning to think I'd have to take you to the emergency room. That's quite the wound you've got there. What happened to you?"
"Where am I?"
"You are at my apartment, healing from your injury. I found you in the alleyway, remember?I'm surprised you're still alive."
"No, you wretched woman, what planet is this?!"
Matilda looked stunned. She was insulted, but at the same time she felt sorry for him. She thought that he was delirious or crazy. For him to ask what planet they were on, was completely out of this world, but she figured she might as well feed into it.Do whatever it takes to help the healing process.
"You're on Earth, where else would you be?"
He laughed.
"Of course. I should have known. You weak humans think that there is no other living life forms other than yourselves. How long have I been here?"
Alcozar made a motion to get up out of bed, but the pain was too much.
"Don't get up, it's too much for you to do right now! You've been here for three days and all of a sudden you think you are completely healed?!"
"DO NOT TOUCH ME! I will leave right now and I don't want to hear anymore of this!"
For a second time, the demon lord made an attempt to get up, but failed once again. Matilda helped him back onto the bed, but not without a fight.
"Look, I just want you to heal and then you can leave! Do you have a phone number or an address, so I can get in touch with a family member or something?"
No answer. The demon was completely silent.
"Well then. Apparently you have nowhere to go, so why is it such a big deal that you stay here? Just get some rest and I'll come back with some soup for you."
Matilda calmly left the room. She had never seen such fire in one person before. It was like he lived just to cause problems,or at least that's what it seemed like.
Things went on this way between Matilda and Alcozar for a little over a month. He would yell and scream, and she would try her hardest to make him haooy. Now although this seems like a lot, Matilda didn't really mind it. She never really had friends and never had someone to take care of. There were days when he acted like he had common sense, and those days were traditionally the best for her. Whether Matilda knew it or not, she was begininning to like Alcozar for all the wrong reasons.
(Alcozar) Everyday it's been like this. She comes back to this thing she calls a home and runs on and on about how her day has gone. What on this earth would make her think that I want to hear about what made her mad or upset?! She was as worse as the woman he had waiting for him at home. Fiona. I know she'll send someone looking for me pretty soon. Oh well. Let her look. As much as I hate to say it, I can tolerate this human more than her. It's something about her....she's not like other humans. She's stronger in sprirt than other humans, her aura is stronger. I just don't know what it is. I refuse to become infatuated with a human.
"WOULD YOU SHUT UP?! SHUT YOUR MOUTH RIGHT NOW! ALL YOU DO IS TALK! I NEVER ASKED YOU ABOUT YOUR DAY SO SHUT THE HELL UP!!!"
"I...I apologize. I didn't know that my talking was bothering you that much. You should've said something before. Well, I'll get your food ready and then you can get some rest."
Matilda smiled at him, and left the room.
