This was written because my dog died
There she was beautiful as ever
She seemed so peaceful,
So serene and loving,
A moment would pass
She stared and looked up,
Knowing that you wouldn’t go far.

With her beautiful eyes
Her image was pleasantly
Branded into ones mind,
Once she touches us
Our hearts are no longer our own.

She had to leave soon,
She was wanted somewhere else,
Such a popular dog that
They took her away before her time.

Now that she is gone
We are lost, not knowing what to do,
Her image fresh to see
As if right here
Yet I see her looking at me
Not realising what is wrong.

With her soul gone
Her lifeless eyes still capture us,
Nobody can steal her beauty,
Her spirit and heart are with us,
Leading us on, taking us by the hand,
Helping us on our way.

I remember kissing her ears,
Her cheek, hugging her back,
Stroking her body, rubbing her belly,
She liked it, yet hated baths.

The fun times are still there,
The memories are forever saved,
She is my dog, a part of my heart
She shall always have,
I love you to the core.
