poem in response to a book i read called 'the glass menagerie'
Glass is beauty,
Hidden from those who cannot see,
True depth,
Blinded by fear.

Glass is intensity,
Masked only by appearance,
Flickering light,
Reveals the rainbows.

Glass is delicate,
Threatened by self-assurance,
Fragile life,
Broken by rejection.

Glass is vulnerable,
Desperately seeking support,
Death without love,
Easily fractured.

Glass is unique,
It cannot be moulded, or changed
Appreciated only,
With clever patience.

Glass is emotion,
Feelings mirrored by its shine,
Reflected, unnoticed,
Yet hurting deep within.

Glass is afraid,
Succumbing to pressure,
For transformation,
Into lies.

Glass is peace,
Longing for its freedom,
Silence and harmony,
From personal restrictions.

Glass is shattered,
Destroyed by insecurity,
Glass is…
Glass is me.
