A poem. About my ex-girlfriend.
She's so perfect for me.
Not perfect, but certainly fills out much of what I want.
I have learned so much from RK.
Why couldn't we have met sooner?
Or later?
Why now when it's so torturous for us both?
The pain I feel must be nothing compared to what she goes through.
What she's already gone through.
I miss you, RK.
I'm in paradise and it's not perfect.
Not perfect. Not without you.
I still don't believe in fate.
You used to live here, nine years ago.
We may have worked together, but we don't remember it.
The path you have travelled since has been long and hard.
Not even close to perfect.
You are braver and stronger than I am.
You are braver and stronger than you believe yourself to be.
There is something wonderful inside of you, RK.
If I were a poet, or a better writer, I could better describe it.
It's a spark. A light. Whatever.
It's something even the most wretched of us can see.
Those evil men that hurt you so.
All your life.
And the good ones. Those that like to see you happy.
And your "perfect" smile.
That long and winding road brought you back to me.
Together again for the very first time.
To explore unknowns.
To save me from lonliness.
To see movies and make friends with sushi.
You don't know what you want.
I do.
It doesn't make either of us wrong.
It just makes us: Not Perfect.
