I work this for a contest, and it was like being reborn when I wrote it.
Weird has been misrepresented for years now. I am here to take the stand for WEIRD,
Weird has taken on so many faces and personality. Where are the days when weird was distinguished enough to be used for a few selected situations?

Everything and everyone is weird now a days, remember the days when bad was bad, well now bad is good. I made this awesome dinner one night, and my teens said’ Mom this is bad”

Weird was a treasure word to describe a situation of deviation, unusual thinking, and the alike.

I took pride in being weird. It was a high for me that people thought me to be “different” In response to those who would complement me by calling me weird, I would answer. If I were not weird how would I survive this cold, cruel world?

I no longer feel different or even weird, simply because, in my perspective we are all weird, making us very much alike, making us common.

Daily, I try to formulate a trait that will make me no longer common weird, but truly weird, like the day of old.

I think I will call myself “happily diverse”
